Persistence...!

Sometimes I feel like I keep praying and praying for something and that for some reason God is not answering my prayers. BUT if you dig deeper into his word you will discover that God promises answered prayers. Here is some proof.
9And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. Luke 11:9-10

I found a lot of encouragement in this today. I also need to remember that what I want isn't always what God wants and he knows what is best for me! I need to be patience and persistent in prayer and it will all work out in Gods timing. A good friend once told me to try being more specific when praying. Sometimes I pray and am quite vague about what I am asking for because I think God just "knows" what I want but in the word it says "6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Phillipians 4:6-7
That is proof that God wants us to come to him with all of our needs. I need to remember these verses when I worry that things aren't happening when I think they should or when I am trying to plan my life out on my own.
God is good! Happy Tuesday all! I think it might be thrify Tuesday....I'll post pics later if I find anything exciting!

Sunday thoughts...

This week I don't have much to say...I feel like I am just trying to enjoy every moment that summer has to bring. I did have a few good thrifting finds this week! I snagged this adorable dresser from MCC for $20! I'm going to use it in my office to store craft/sewing supplies.
Lately I have been a bit obsessed with Jamie Oliver eats. I can't stop cooking his recipes! If you haven't tried them yet you have to start! I've been using his Meals in Minutes book and loving it!

my cute new dresser! It has wall paper glued on it which I think is pretty quaint!

Jamie Oliver Red Thai Curry Prawns and Cucumber Salad
mmm sooo good!

 I love this verse.

Happy Girl!

Today I am a happy girl...Reasons being...

1)  My sweet loving husband woke me up and had my coffee all ready for me today and yesterday!

2) I got a free pedicure! I got it at Utopia Academy since they needed pedicure models. My toes look great!

3) I went to some wineries in Langley with my Mom and sister on Saturday! We stopped at Domaine de Chaberton and Vista D'Oro. I picked up a Rose wine from our first stop which is surprising because I always get the Bacchus from there! Lately I have been trying to try new things. At Vista D'Oro we tried some wines but decided to pick up some of their preserves instead! My wonderful Mom bought me some Rhubarb Vanilla jam which is so tasty. I'm thinking I might want to trying making some myself! Mom then treated us to lunch at Olive Garden. She really is the best Mom! Love her tons.

I love Saturdays! Here are some photos from our day and my latest thrifting finds.

we love wine touring!

delicious treats...

my $1 vintage chair that I found at a garage sale!

Vintage frames that I am going to make a photo collage with in the hallway.
Total cost for 8 frames was $8! Love MCC!
Well happy Sunday! Have a relaxing day.

Love to jam!

There is something about making jam that is comforting and fun to me! It's something that after a few hours you can look back and actually see how much you accomplished! I love giving homemade jam as a gift to someone. I feel proud that I made it and I hope it makes their day a little brighter when they spread it on some toast.
Last week I made freezer raspberry jam. It's delicious on fresh baked buns!

raspberry jam on buns= sooo good and so menno right?

This week my dad came home from a weekend in the Okanagan with a flat of apricots for me to make jam. It was so generous of him and reminded me a lot of kind gestures my Opa used to do for us to show us he loved us. Anyways... So my sister and I decided to "jam" together so she could make raspberry and I could make apricot. It was a bit of chaos but we ended up making 25 jars of apricot jam and 14 jars of raspberry jam!
apricot and raspberry jam

i love these cute jars and labels!
I found a link on pinterest to print these adorable labels. Labels make everything look even better! Find the link here!
Well I am off to go for a morning hike and then off to the farmers market! Happy Saturday everyone!

Currently!

I haven't done a "currently" post in awhile so I thought I would do one since we are FINALLY in a new season of summer! I don't know about you but I am so glad summer finally arrived! This weekend we plan to have a nice BBQ by the river with some friends and then on Sunday hopefully my sister and I can strap my picnic basket to my bike and ride somewhere! I bought a bike rack with the intention of strapping my picnic basket to it. So far it has been more of a cute vintage accessory than anything of use...

Currently...

Obsessing over: tea cups (if you haven't noticed!) The library!! I know so geeky right? But it's SO useful and a bonus is that it's FREE! You can look up popular books online and put them on hold and it doesn't even take that long. I even checked out a Jamie Oliver cookbook this week.

Working on: Still working on my patience...This ones a hard one for me! Also working on seeking after Gods will on a daily basis. Also working on being more active. Lately I have been doing a lot of hikes with Mika!

Thinking about: painting our room grey...what's a good grey colour? Grey is such a hard shade to pick!
I've also been thinking a lot about canning! I have some new canning recipes I want to try this year like sweet corn relish and vanilla apricot jam. YUM!

Anticipating: enjoying summer! Looking forward to relaxing weekends spent picnicking, bbq-ing, biking,...going to the cabin..bare feet..maxi dresses!

Eating: Local berries! Can't wait for blueberries as well.

Praying for: for patience in all areas of my life, Praying for patience on waiting on Gods timing, Prayers of thankfulness for Gods grace and love that I'm so undeserving of.

Wishing for: that my hair would grow faster! I miss wearing it curly and in ponytails. for more time with my husband doing things we love, still wishing for mint pants, for a pedicure sometime soon, for a headboard for our bed.I'm hoping Mika will help me make one....

Well I'm off to read and go to bed. Have a good Friday and enjoy your weekend in the SUN. I know I will!
I'll leave you with some recent photos of what I've been up to.

we hiked The Chief in Squamish!
