Weekend thrift finds!

We did a little thrifting this weekend...! I wanted to make a cake stand for some reason. I never make cake but maybe now if I have a pretty cake stand I will. I bought a small vase that I am going to spray paint gold for the bottom of the stand. Then I found a super cute pink pie plate that I am going to glue to it.
I also want to make some mini pink and gold cake stands with the pink saucers for Sadie's 1st birthday party. Did I just say 1st birthday?! It is still 4 months away but I still can't believe it. She is growing way too fast.  I will post pictures once they are done.

My FIND of the day was this adorable vintage ironing board. I am not sure what I am going to do with it but have been searching pinterest for some ideas. My husband thinks I am slightly crazy for this purchase but his thoughts have never stopped my thrifting excitement! Currently it is set up in the middle of our living room for no apparent reason just so I can look at it.

treasure of the day! $5 whaaaat?!

idea of what to do with my ironing board!
This is how we thrift. She likes to grab everything she
can get her hands on!

Happy Monday all!

C U R R E N T L Y

Currently.....

Obsessing over:
Homemade lattes- We are trying to be more intentional with our budget so my Starbucks/Coffee shop budget has decreased and my thriftiness has increased at home! They are super easy to make and just as good! Right now I am sipping on a Caramel Machiatto with homemade caramel sauce. Can you say YUM?!

Mint.com- Like I said above we are working on our budget and this website has been amazing! Check it out if you are needing a new budget program. It has made me a lot more aware of where our money is actually going! And a great way to save for our goals!

Reading: hmmm not much reading going on here lately. I read a food and wine magazine a little while ago. Does that count?

Working on: my new little business. If you haven't noticed I started selling my button earrings!
Check out my facebook page here! https://www.facebook.com/simplymelco
I am currently running a contest to win two free pairs of earrings. Make sure you enter! Information is found on my page.
My plan is to eventually open a Etsy shop where I can sell my handmade earrings and maybe other crafty items.

Fitness- lately I have been trying to work out more regularly! Sadie and I do a mommy&me boot camp once a week which is a really good workout and a great way to meet other moms. I have also been doing my Jillians Michaels 30 day Shred video. Her workouts are fast and intense which is perfect for someone with a short attention span like me. :)

Thinking about:  That I am so blessed and God is so faithful.

Anticipating: Our girls weekend away in Seattle in a few weeks! Looking forward to hanging with my mom and sisters (yes Sadie is coming too!)

Eating
:
Tonight's dinner is sloppy joes on homemade buns. Random I know! Dinner is all ready to go. I was feeling like super mom this morning. :)
Now I can enjoy the afternoon with my girl and go on a walk with a friend.

Praying for: a house. wisdom in parenting Sadie.

Wishing for: SPRING! Yes I am still wishing for more spring like weather. I just want to wear flats and not have cold feet. Is that too much to ask?

I love my new M I N T button earrings! Combining two of my
favorite things... Mint & lace
Daddy & his girl. No words....
Happy weekend!

Cherishing moments.

Tonight I was looking through some older photos of Sadie. Next week she will be 8 months old! I still can't believe it! I love looking back at photos and seeing how much she has changed and grown.
This week she learnt how to clap, realized she has ticklish feet and found her new favorite toy is yarn! She smiles and laughs all day long. She brings me so much joy and I am so grateful for her.
I love you Sadie Rae!

My favorite picture of me and Sadie. She made me a mama.

Our first family photo.

My first look at our Sadie Rae

Here are some recent photos of our happy girl!

Happy Weekend! My hubby is on night shift tonight so I am going to take it easy, drink tea and watch some Gossip Girl. Oh and craft. Always crafting. :)

Catching up!

I have fallen a little behind in blogging this week! Let's play catch up and I will show you what I have been up to.
I am trying to incorporate a little more colour into our home. If you know me you know I love white everything! But since spring is around the corner I thought I would add a few pops of colour. Here is my hutch. I picked up some scrapbook paper from Michaels and taped it to my hutch. That way when I get bored of it (which I will) I can just take it down!

I got these cute little frames from Michaels in the
$ section!

Another project completed! I picked up this super fab mirror from the thrift store for $2.50!
I painted the mirror with chalkboard paint and picked a fun coral colour for the frame. The chalkboard is in Sadie's room. I want to write bible verses and inspirational quotes on it.

My mom and sister are visiting this weekend. Actually my sisters visit was a surprise!!! I was SO happy to see her! They are the best. Seriously. Since they are here we had to go thrifting of course. I picked up these pretties.

$1 each!
Cute spring blouse. Yes please. $3
This was my moms pose idea....!

Spring is coming. (in my window sill at least...)
Well I am off to wake up my mom from her nap and pick up some lattes for us. Happy weekend all!
