It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....!

My hubby is gone for the week on a hunting trip so I thought I would take the opportunity and decorate for Christmas! I always try to keep busy when he is away for a week. It makes the time pass for much faster, Even though he goes away a lot in the fall he always makes sure to spoil me and leave me things like cards and spa gift cards! I plan on using it this week!
My mom and sister came over tonight to help me decorate. Here is a little tour of our Christmas home. I hope this gets you into the Christmas spirit! I know I am! All I need is our tree. We will go chop on down when the hubby gets back from his trip.

Cup-a-tea

Apparently I forgot that I really enjoy blogging since I have been a bit absent from the blogging world.
Lately I have been enjoying this cozy fall weather. I love to spend rainy evenings at home sewing with a cup of tea. I've been sewing a lot of infinity scarfs and I've made a couple tea cozies as well!
I don't have too much to share this morning...BUT....
Here are some pictures of my latest creations and photos from my high tea I had a few weeks ago.

finally got to use all my thifted vintage teacups!

Happy Sunday all! I think I am going to have to find something crafty to do after church today....I'm thinking tile coasters..I will post pics another time.

Fall lovin'...!

It's a rainy Saturday morning...I'm sort of content that the rain has started now. We have had such a gorgeous fall that I can't complain! I guess it's time to start on some sewing projects. Sometimes I like cozy evenings spent sewing and drinking tea and maybe watching The Bachelor. Lame I know, but I can't help but get sucked into watching that show!
I don't have much to share this morning except these gorgeous photos that my Aunt took for Mika and I. I LOVE them all. I'm not sure how I'm going to decide which ones to frame! I have some gorgeous old window panes that I plan to put some of these photos in. You can find her info here if you like her work!

A thankful heart....!

Today I am thankful for a house that smells like fall...! Roasted sweet potato soup is simmering and pumpkin chocolate chip loaf is baking. I'm drinking Pumpkin Chai tea from Davids tea. Life is good!

I'm realizing that the more that we thank God for the small things in life, the more JOY we find.

"This giving thanks – this is what we are made for: To give Him more glory. More thanks. This is more joy!" - One Thousand Gifts

Happy Tuesday all!

I'll leave you with some of my thankful photos!

Thankfulness

I am reading this book called one thousand gifts by Ann Voskamp. The book is "a dare to live fully right where you are."
I started reading this book about a week ago and I think it has been perfect timing since Thanksgiving is about a week away! This book has really challenged me to have a more thankful heart in a everyday way. The book gives you a challenge to write a list of 1000 things that you are thankful for. They even have a app for it so it is super easy to do! It has made me realize how richly God has blessed my life. I am loving the challenge to "embrace a lifestyle of radical gratitude, and slowing down to catch God in every moment!"

 I am thankful for...
dates with my amazing, awesome, loving, thoughful, hubby!

I am thankful for tea!

26

Today I turned 26... Which sounds waaaay older than 25! Don't you think? This has been a different birthday for me. I guess I am out of my early 20's and am now in my "late" 20's... But I have to remember it's just a number!
Today in my morning devotion this quote came up which I thought was really suiting for my birthday.
"Thank God for the past and you can trust Him for the future.
Trust is a bridge from past to future built with planks of thanks."

This struck a chord in my heart and made me feel thankful for all the 25 years that God has blessed my life with His goodness. My goal this year is to really seek after Gods will for mine and Mika's future. I want to live out His plans for our life.
Here's some inspiration for this year for me!

Have a great day! I am blessed to be able to spend the day with my sister and my mom having high tea and going shopping.

Currently!

I haven't done a "currently" post in while and now that the seasons are changing I thought it would be the perfect time.

Currently...

Obsessing over: FALL... I can't get enough of anything autumn or fall like. I love shopping for fall clothes. I love wearing long sweaters with jeans, boots and a loose scarf. It's definitely my favourite season for fashion. I love picking apples and baking anything with apples or pumpkin. Pumpkin Spice lattes are also a good fall treat.

Working on: Going to the gym or exercising more and basically just living a more active lifestyle.
Also working on praying more persistently and more specifically. Obviously God knows my wants and my needs but he also wants us to have a relationship with him and for us to seek after him and his will for our lives.

Thinking about: The future. Wondering what God has in store for us in these next few months. I am a very impatience person so waiting on Gods timing is very difficult for me. I want things instantly but life just doesn't work like that. I need to be more patient!

Anticipating:  Actually wearing fall clothes! Today looks like it has finally cooled down enough to wear some jeans and a cardigan.

Eating: Peaches with steel cut oats...mmmm so delicious! I am trying to eat as many fresh local fruits and veggies before they are gone!

Praying for: Basically what I have been "thinking about".

Wishing for: Some new greyish/tan worn leather boots, new jeans, and purse! I think my hubby will just send me shopping for my birthday this year so I can pick this all out for myself!

Well I am off to enjoy a lovely Sunday. Here are some last hooray summer photos!
